A series of RISIS Research Seminars are planned on a monthly base, from September 2020 to May 2021 to foster the exchange of ideas within and outside the RISIS community.
The first organized by USI (Università della Svizzera Italiana) on 9th September from 12.30 am to 2 pm will focus on Business Model and Value Creation in Higher Education with a presentation by Barbara Antonioli-Mantegazzini. Prof. Hugo Horta, University of Hong Kong, is involved as discussant.
The paper aims to contribute to the debate on competition in the Higher education sector through the concept of the business model applied to HEIs. By considering how value is generated and captured from customers, we suggest four ideal business models, which also translate into different expectations on HEIs’ level and composition of revenues. During the meetings, scholars or practitioners can present and discuss their ongoing research.
The next Research Seminar is planned on 7th of October. Presented by Giovanni Cerulli, CNR- IRCrES (Research Institute of Suistainable Economic Growth), entitled How universities react to funding policies: The effects at performance level.
